  • Biophysics research in Heidelberg is committed to cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research at the interface between life science and physics building on proven research tracks. The more than 20 institutes, organizations and corporations that participate in the biophysics program are headed by a distinguished group of faculty affiliated with basic science and clinical departments. Students persuing a carrer in biophysics have access to faculty members and the research resources of the Heidelberg University, the Medical School Heidelberg-Mannheim, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the Max-Planck Institute for Medical Research (MPIMF), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and several affiliates such as the Heavy-Ion Research Center (GSI) in Darmstadt and collaborating international universities and institutions, creating unique research and educational possibilities.
